The Bobwhite Quail Dead Fowl Trainer is 2 1/2 to 3 times larger than a real quail and is designed for teaching proper retrieving techniques. It has a soft, natural urethane body with a non-palatable head and feet to encourage proper carry and discourage hard mouthing. The free-swinging head discourages dogs from shaking birds, during the retrieve. This trainer won’t sink and is easy to throw. To Deodorize Your Dokken Deadfowl Trainer:
Combine 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, a squirt of dish soap, and enough warm water to cover your dummy (up to a 1/2 gallon if needed). Soak the dummy overnight, rinse off the next day and set it out in the sun to dry.
